Kozhikode, Aug. 16 -- A 53-year-old woman was electrocuted today morning while cleaning the courtyard of her house at Thodannur near Vadakara in Kozhikhode district.
The deceased, identified as Usha (53), wife of Vijayan, accidentally came in contact with a live electric wire entangled with a fallen tree branch from a neighbouring compound. The branch had fallen on the power line during heavy rains and winds last night.
The incident occurred around 06:45 am when Usha was sweeping her courtyard using a broom. Relatives rushed her to a hospital at Vadakara, where she was declared brought dead by doctors.
The body has been shifted to the Vadakara district hospital for post-mortem.
