New Delhi, Oct. 13 -- A 52-year-old man was charred to death in a fire that erupted at a house in Tilak Nagar in West Delhi.

The deceased has been identified as Sunil Kumar Ginotra, a resident of Vishnu Garden, who died in the blaze that had engulfed the ground floor of the building, which was brought under control by the firefighters.

"A PCR call reporting a fire at a house in Tilak Nagar was received, prompting a team from the local police station and fire brigade personnel to rush to the scene," said Darade Sharad Bhaskar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West).

Adding to his statement further, he said that during the inspection, Ginotra was found inside the premises with severe burn injuries and was declared dead at the spot.
