New Delhi, Aug. 10 -- Bollywood's timeless classic Sholay is set to make a grand return to the big screen as a 4K restored version will be showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 6, marking its 50th anniversary.
Directed by Ramesh Sippy and released in 1975, the iconic action-drama is widely regarded as one of the greatest films in Indian cinema history.
The Film Heritage Foundation has meticulously restored the classic, bringing its powerful story, memorable characters, and evergreen songs like "Yeh Dosti" and "Mehbooba Mehbooba" to life in stunning 4K quality.
However, Indian fans are eagerly awaiting a domestic release, as the current plans are only for a North American premiere.
