Nagpur, May 3 -- A massive fire, allegedly triggered by burning garbage, gutted around 50 houses in Dhamangaon village under Bhiwapur tehsil of Maharashtra's Nagpur district , leaving several families homeless and causing heavy loss to property and livestock, officials said on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 6:30 pm on Saturday in Dhamangaon (Vidya Mandir), located about 15 km from Bhiwapur.
According to preliminary information, the fire originated from garbage set ablaze in a nearby field, which smouldered through the day before flaring up due to strong winds in the evening.
