Kushinagar, Sept. 25 -- A 5-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 10-year-old boy from the same neighbourhood in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh, police said today.
The incident occurred last afternoon, while the child was alone at home.
According to the victim's mother, she had briefly gone out to pick up her son from a nearby madrasa, leaving her daughter playing alone at home.
During this time, a 10-year-old boy from the neighbourhood came over, interacted with the girl, and took her into a room inside the house.
When the mother returned, she found her daughter crying and visibly distressed. On being asked what had happened, the girl shared the name of the boy who had taken her inside.
