Islamabad, Feb. 10 -- Five terrorists were killed during an operation in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the counter-terrorism department (CTD) of police said on Monday.
The CTD personnel conducted an intelligence-based operation in Karak district of the province on the reported presence of terrorists in the area, CTD officials told the media.
The killed terrorist belonged to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, said the CTD, adding that the security forces have intensified their efforts against terrorism in the region, with operations continuing to ensure peace and stability.
The CTD also recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the hideout of the terrorists.
