Chandigarh, Dec. 9 -- A group of five prominent Sikh personalities has begun performing religious penalties assigned by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest temporal authority of the Sikh faith, following findings that they had violated Sikh 'maryada' and established 'panthic' traditions.
Senior Akali leader Virsa Singh Valtoha reached the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar to comply with the directive. He was seen washing used utensils in the langar area and assisting in the cleaning of footwear, as part of the 'seva' prescribed by Akal Takht.
