Agartala, Aug. 12 -- The Tripura Power Department is working to install 45 electric vehicle charging stations across the state and aims to complete more sub-stations before Durga Puja, slated for the end of next month, said state's power minister Ratan Lal Nath.
He said to reduce dependency on fossil fuels in the transport sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched multiple initiatives to popularize electric vehicles, including two-wheelers and mass modes of transportation, and by this time, India's Green House Gas (GHG) emission level has been reduced substantially.
