Kannauj/Lakhimpur Kheri, Nov. 19 -- Around 40 passengers were injured when a double-decker sleeper bus traveling from Delhi to Gonda lost control and overturned after hitting the divider on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway.
The accident took place near Bahusuhiya village under Thathia police station, around the 210-kilometre mark, at approximately 4:30 am. Low traffic and limited visibility contributed to the high-speed bus striking the divider with significant force, causing it to flip.
Upon receiving information, UPEIDA staff and local police rushed to the spot. Several passengers were trapped inside the bus, prompting an immediate rescue operation. The injured were quickly transported to Tirwa Medical College in Kannauj.
