Manila, Jan. 26 -- A fire gutted at least 15 houses in a residential area in Lucena City in Quezon province, southeast of Manila, early Friday, killing four people and injuring one, police said.



In a spot report, Lucena city police identified the four fatalities, including one 72-year-old and one 65-year-old, and two others aged 18 and 8, who were all living together in one of the burned houses.



The victims were trapped inside the house and their remains were discovered by firemen during mopping-up operations. The detail on their family relationship was not provided.



Another victim suffered a second-degree burn and was rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment.
