Chennai, Oct. 2 -- About 39 Rashtriya Swayamseveram Sangh (RSS) memberswere detained for conducting a Guru Puja and a special Shaka training sessionat suburban Iyyappanthangal near Porur today, triggering strongly condemnationfrom Tamil Nadu BJP leaders.
The event was organised to mark the Centenary of the RSS movement.
The RSS members, clad in their traditional attire, were detained by the police for notobtaining pior permission for the event held at a Government Higher Secondary school .
Former BJP Tamil Nadu Unit Presidents Ms Tamilisai Soundararjan, who met thedetained RSS Karyakartas and expressed her solidarity, and K Annamalai stronglycondemned the detention of RSS workers and took potshots at the ruling DMK.
