Chennai, Aug. 7 -- About 300 world's bright young astronomers will gather in Mumbai this month not to look up at the skies but to participate in the 18th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA 2025).

The IOAA, to be held between August 11 and 21, is hosted by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR).

Supported by the Indian Prime Minister's Office and the Department of Atomic Energy, and organised by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, IOAA 2025 is not just a competition.

It's a celebration of international collaboration and scientific talent and an opportunity to celebrate India's growing leadership in astronomy in particular.
