Thiruvananthapuram, May 28 -- Out of every 100 youth in Kerala, 30 are unemployed, BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar alleged on Wednesday.

Under the last 9 years of the Left Government's misrule, the unemployment in Kerala has risen to 7.2%, more than double the national average of 3.2%, the BJP chief said.

While qualified candidates on PSC rank lists are left to protest on the streets in desperation, the Government shamelessly hands out backdoor appointments to political nominees and loyalists, he charged.

Outdated communist ideologies have driven away the private sector, leaving the youth with no option but to leave the state in search of employment, he felt.
