Srinagar, Sept. 9 -- Three Army soldiers lost their lives after an avalanche struck their camp at the Siachen glacier in Ladakh during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, officials saidThey said the soldiers were buried under snow for nearly five hours before rescue teams could reach the site. Despite efforts to save them, all three succumbed. One officer, however, was pulled out alive.
Officials said immediate rescue operations were launched with specialised teams and equipment.
