Chandigarh, April 22 -- The Counter Intelligence Amritsar successfully uncovered an illegal weapon smuggling module with links extending to the United States and apprehended Gurwinder Singh alias Guri from Ludhiana. The police recovered 5 pistols from his possession. DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav said Gurwinder Singh was acting under the directions of Gurlal Singh and Vipul Sharma, both currently residing in the USA, who are key handlers in the network. A preliminary investigation revealed Gurwinder Singh is the brother-in-law of Hardeep Singh, a known drug smuggler who fled to the US in 2022 after being arrested in a case.
