Giridih (Jharkhand), May 17 -- Three members of a family were killed in a road accident in Jharkhand's Giridih district on Saturday, police said.

Police sources said that the occupants of the car were leaving. During this time, the car lost control and collided with a roadside tree at Ambadih turn. Three people in the car were killed in the incident.

The deceased have been identified as Ashish Kumar Barnwal, his wife Shweta Barnwal and son Paltu of Chhotki Saria, sources said. The occupants of the car were returning to Sariya from Ranchi when the accident took place.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem.
