Chandigarh, June 2 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday alleged that three persons succumbed to drug overdose in different villages of Punjab on Sunday, "exposing the grim reality" behind Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's "War Against Drugs" and the failure of his government's May 31 deadline to make the state drug-free.

BJP state media head Vineet Joshi claimed the three deaths took place in Deharka (Ludhiana district), Rodikpura (Faridkot district), and Senia (Fazilka district) villages.

The state government or the police were yet to react to Joshi's allegations.

Meanwhile, in Bakhtaur village, frustrated residents put up a sign declaring, "Our Village is for Sale" - in a desperate protest against drug traffickers, said Joshi.
