Dimapur (Nagaland), July 7 -- Three people reportedly died of electrocution in Dimapur as rains continue to cause widespread flooding across the northeastern state.
Reports said two men were electrocuted in Kuda village on Sunday while a woman died in Police Colony while trying to disconnect a flooded inverter on Saturday.
With heavy downpour over the weekend in Dimapur, Niuland and Chumoukedima districts, residents in low-lying areas have been forced to evacuate. Sections of National Highway 29 witnessed mudslides and slush-induced blockages, causing traffic disruptions.
The flights operating from Dimapur airport were cancelled on Sunday due to adverse weather conditions.
