Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 10 -- The Kerala State Election Commission has placed 2,055 of the total 18,274 polling stations under strict surveillance ahead of the second phase of the Kerala local body elections, which will be held on December 11 across seven northern districts.

District-wise, Thrissur has 81 sensitive booths, Palakkad 180, Malappuram 295, Kozhikode 166, Wayanad 189, Kasaragod 119 and Kannur the highest with 1,025, a release said today.

These stations will have heightened security, live webcasting, and additional police deployment. The entire voting process in these booths will be monitored directly by the State Election Commission.
