Nahan (Himachal Pradesh), April 24 -- In a major crackdown on corruption and financial irregularities, the Himachal Pradesh Congress government has taken action against 28 panchayat representatives in the Sirmaur district.
The punitive measures include the suspension of 25 representatives and the dismissal of three others for their alleged involvement in misappropriation of funds and other serious misconduct.
According to an official report, the majority of the action has been concentrated in the Shillai development block, where 17 representatives have been held accountable.
Additionally, five representatives from Sangrah, two from Nahan, and one each from Pachhad, Paonta Sahib, and Rajgarh blocks have also been penalized.
