Siliguri, Sept. 27 -- The Sasastra Seema Bal (SSB), guarding the Indian border with Nepal and Bhutan in the northern region of West Bengal, has rescued 28 live buffaloes, which were smuggled from Uttar Pradesh to Assam stacked in a very suffocating condition in a truck and nabbed three persons, official sources said today.

The arrested persons were identified as Sk Imdadullah, Moinul Ali of Assam and Md. Irfan, a resident of Shamli in Uttar Pradesh. Their heavy-duty truck was seized.
