Shahjahanpur, Sept. 10 -- In a crackdown against narcotics smuggling, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) apprehended an inter-state drug trafficker with 271.4 kg of illegal ganja. The operation took place near the Saryu Pulia overbridge in the Tilhar police station area.
The seized contraband is estimated to be worth approximately Rs 1.5 crore in the international market.
The STF had been receiving consistent intelligence reports about drug trafficking syndicates operating across western Uttar Pradesh and neighboring states. Acting on these leads, the STF Field Unit from Meerut was directed to take action today.
