Patna, April 29 -- Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey said on Tuesday that 27,375 Asha workers would be appointed within next three months across the state.
While addressing a review meeting of the State Health committee here, Pandey said that the selection process will soon be initiated for the appointment.
He said that Gram Sabha would select the Asha workers in the rural areas, and the local Mukhiya has been entrusted with the related responsibilities.
However, for the appointments to be made in the urban areas, the role of councillors would be important.
He said that within next three months, 21,900 Asha workers would be appointed in the rural areas and 5,316 in the urban areas.
