Nagpur, Nov. 19 -- A total of 255 private aided, unaided and self-financed schools in Nagpur district have failed to complete the mandatory registration under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, prompting the education department to issue show-cause notices to all defaulters.
According to district education authorities, 629 schools in Nagpur are required to maintain valid RTE registration.
However, inspections revealed that 255 institutions are operating without recognition, directly affecting the educational rights of children from economically weaker and disadvantaged groups.
Officials noted that the list includes several well-known city schools and institutions managed by influential education trusts.
