Patna, April 10 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the kin of each 25 people killed during hailstorm and lightning incidents at separate places in Bihar on Thursday.
Expressing deep sorrow over the incidents, Kumar directed the authorities to immediately provide the ex gratia amount to the bereaved families.
He also appealed to the people to take precautions during the inclement weather and follow the guidelines and instructions of the Disaster Management Department.
Eighteen people were killed in Nalanda in hailstorms, whereas lightning claimed two lives in Siwan and one each in Katihar, Darbhanga, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, and Jahanabad.
