Nanded, Aug. 18 -- Heavy rains pounded Mukheed tehsil in Nanded district today, causing a significant rise in Landi Dam's water level and trapping 225 residents of Rawan village in the floods. Intense water inflow from Latur, Udgir, and neighbouring Karnataka exacerbated the situation, prompting the district administration to launch a major relief and rescue operation with Indian Navy and NDRF teams.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, reviewing the state's flood scenario in the ministry's emergency cell, informed journalists that Nanded recorded 206 mm rainfall within 24 hours. He confirmed that floodwaters from Karnataka severely impacted Rawangaon, Bhaswadi, Bhangli, and Hassanal villages, disrupting normal life.
