Sangli, March 23 -- The district Agriculture department team on Saturday seized 210 tonnes of urea stock, used illegally for industrial purposes, worth Rs 37.89 lakh from a godown in Kadegaon village of the district.

A joint team of district Agriculture department and Kadegaon police on suspicion raided a godown in Kadegaon MIDC area and found 210 tonnes of bags of urea fertiliser meant for agriculture purposes but illegally used for industrial purposes collectively worth Rs 37,89,779 and seized all urea bags, police said.

Following which, Agri officer lodged a complaint at Kadegaon police station against godown manager Shankar Jagnnath Kale (53) of Satara.
