Chennai, April 16 -- The year 2025 witnessed the highest number of launches since the beginning of the space age, according to the Indian Space Situational Awareness Report for 2025 (ISSAR-2025).

The ISSAR report was released by Dr. V. Narayanan, Chairman, ISRO/Secretary, Department of Space, a few days back during the inaugural session of the second international conference on Spacecraft Mission Operations (SMOPS-2026) at Bengaluru.

According to the report, there were 328 launch attempts in 2025, out of which 315 launches were successful in placing 4,198 known operational satellites.
