Agartala, Jan. 8 -- The crime rate in Tripura has plummeted last year, reaching its lowest level in two decades, claimed Director General of Police, Tripura Anurag here Wednesday. In 2025, as many as 3,698 incidents were reported, down from 4,033 in 2024.
Addressing a press conference, DGP said overall crimes have decreased by 8.3% compared to the previous year, and added, "This year marks a historic low in crime for Tripura over the past 20 years, showcasing the combined efforts of law enforcement and community cooperation,"Notably, property-related crimes saw a remarkable drop of 16%, with 293 cases this year compared to 349 last year.
