Agartala, Aug. 25 -- Tripura government today placed a senior IAS cadre, Abhishek Chandra, on compulsory waiting with immediate effect, allegedly due to his involvement in administrative irregularities and corruption, although the order did not cite any reasons.
Chandra, a 2003-batch IAS officer, was serving as Special Secretary, Planning (Statistics) in Government of Tripura.
According to the order, his pay and allowances will continue to be drawn and disbursed by the GA (SA) Department during the period of compulsory waiting or until further orders. The charge of his department has been given to L T Darlong, Secretary, Planning & Coordination, and other departments, in addition to his existing responsibilities.
