Patna, March 5 -- At least 20 people lost their lives in separate incidents including road accidents, drowning cases and a fire mishap, reported from different parts of Bihar during the past 24 hours, police officials said on Thursday.
According to police sources, seven deaths were reported from Madhubani district, six from Saran, three from Madhepura and two each from Gopalganj and Supaul districts.
In Madhubani, five people were killed and two others seriously injured when a Scorpio SUV collided head-on with a jeep near Parsa Chowk on National Highway 27A under the Phulparas police station area on Thursday morning.
The occupants of the Scorpio were reportedly travelling from Haryana for a leisure trip.
