Nahan, Feb. 19 -- The Transport Department has intensified its crackdown on traffic violators in Sirmaur district, challaning 20,137 vehicles between April 2025 and January 2026 and collecting fines amounting to approximately Rs 3.5 crore.
Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Sona Chauhan said strict monitoring is underway to curb violations, particularly by overloaded vehicles that contribute to road accidents. She informed that a dumper without a number plate was impounded on Tuesday, while three other dumper trucks were fined a total of Rs 1.69 lakh for violations.
