Agartala, Nov. 28 -- As many as 2.5 lakh farmers in Tripura have so far received a total of Rs 900 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, the state's Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Ratan Lal Nath said on Friday.
The minister added that the 21st installment of PM-Kisan has recently been disbursed across the state, reinforcing the government's commitment to supporting the farming community.
Highlighting the pivotal role of agriculture in Tripura's economy, Nath said it accounts for 46 percent of the state's total revenue, while tourism and business together contribute 41 percent, and industries make up 13 percent.
