Patna, March 17 -- A total of 2.01 lakhs families, earlier engaged in liquor selling business, have been given financial assistance of Rs two lakh each for launching their own ventures to earn livelihood under sustained livelihood scheme rolled out for such families in dry Bihar.

Bihar Rural Development Minister Shrawan Kumar while replying to debate in Assembly on budgetary demand of his department for the financial year 2025-26, said that 2.01 lakh families were given financial assistance of Rs two lakhs each for launching their own ventures to earn their livelihood.
