Srinagar, Aug. 28 -- Two unidentified terrorists were killed today after security forces foiled an infiltration attempt in the Gurez sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district, the Army said.

Acting on specific intelligence provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police regarding a possible infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched by the Indian Army and J&K Police in the Naushera Nar area along the Line of Control (LoC).

Alert troops detected suspicious movement and challenged the infiltrators, who responded with indiscriminate fire. Security forces retaliated swiftly, neutralising two terrorists. The identity and affiliation of the slain militants are yet to be ascertained.
