Lucknow, May 2 -- Two persons died and many others were injured in rain-related accidents in various parts of western Uttar Pradesh on Friday, official sources said, adding hundreds of acres of crops were damaged due to dust storm and overnight rain in the region.

Life was partially affected due to rain accompanied by strong winds in many parts of of western Uttar Pradesh, official sources said.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials of the districts affected by storm, rain and hailstorm to carry out relief work with full readiness. He said officials should personally visit the area and conduct a survey and keep an eye on the relief work.
