Beirut, Jan. 5 -- Two members of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah were killed on Sunday in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon, according to official and Lebanese security sources.

The Emergency Operations Center of Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health said in a statement that the strike targeted a vehicle on a road linking the village of Safad al-Battikh and the town of Jmeijmeh, killing two Lebanese citizens.

A Lebanese security source, speaking on condition of anonymity, identified the victims as two Hezbollah members.
