Raipur/Bijapur, Aug. 12 -- Two personnel of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) sustained injuries during a prolonged encounter with Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, police officials confirmed here on Tuesday.

The operation, launched in the Gangloor area on August 12 following specific intelligence inputs, has seen intermittent exchanges of fire as security forces advance through the dense forest terrain.

Both injured personnel received immediate first aid at the site and are ready to be airlifted to Raipur for specialized treatment.
