Chennai, Feb. 27 -- The two-day synchronized Vulture commenced
on Thursday with the active co-operation of States of Kerala, Karnataka
and Tamil Nadu.
The census would be conducted in seven protected areas where Vulture
population is known to exist.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden Rakesh
Kumar Dogra said as a run up to the exercise, preparatory meetings have
been conducted with the field officers of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka
sharing details of location, logistics and methodologies to be adopted for
conducting the census.
It has been decided in the co-ordination meeting that census will be held
in 106 points in the three States.
