Hyderabad, Nov. 3 -- A tragic road accident on the Hyderabad-Bijapur National Highway near Mirzaguda in Telangana's Rangareddy district on Monday morning claimed 19 lives, including 12 women, a 10-month-old baby, and both drivers, when a TSRTC bus collided with a gravel-laden tipper. Another 35 were injured, some critically.
According to police, the bus was on its way to Hyderabad from Tandur when the mishap occurred. Preliminary reports suggest that the tipper, loaded with gravel, was travelling on the wrong side of the road when it rammed into the bus. The heavy impact caused gravel to fall onto the bus, crushing passengers seated in the front rows.
