Deoria, Oct. 15 -- An 18-year-old girl was found murdered in a field in Deoria district today afternoon. Her body was wrapped in a bedsheet and bore multiple injury marks, raising a strong suspicion of foul play.
The victim, identified as Gudiya Khatoon, had gone missing the previous night after going to bed. The incident came to light when local children, who were grazing goats near the field in Dharmkhor Dube village under Khampaar police station limits, spotted the body and informed the villagers. According to her family, Gudiya had gone to sleep in her room around 9 pm on Monday after dinner and was not found at home the next morning.
