Bahraich, Nov. 4 -- The body of a 15-year-old girl, who had been missing for two days, was found in an orchard near her home in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, police said.
The girl seems to have been raped and murdered.
According to police reports, the girl went missing two days ago, and her brother filed a complaint the following day, accusing three individuals of abducting her.
Tragically, the teenager's body was discovered with deep injury marks from a sharp-edged weapon, suggesting she was brutally murdered.
The victim's family has alleged that she was kidnapped and gang raped before being killed. The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
