Dehradun, Dec. 3 -- In a startling revelation, BJP Minister of State and former head of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) retired Col Ajay Kothiyal said that 147 persons are still buried under debris at Dharali, but the Uttarakhand government has failed to exhume them till date.
He questioned the working of rescue teams and the state government in retrieving the dead bodies from under debris.
"Why can't we develop a system today that would help people in Dharali live safely. Around 147 people are buried under debris at Dharali after the rain disaster on August 5. Now we cannot say today that they can't be taken out. We cannot leave those 147 persons under debris...Not a single work has been done at Dharali after the August 5 tragedy...
