Khartoum, June 5 -- At least 14 people were killed on Wednesday in an artillery attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeting a market inside a displacement camp in El Fasher, capital of North Darfur State in western Sudan, a local official said.

"Fourteen people were killed, and a number of others were injured when the RSF militia shelled a popular market in the Abu Shouk camp today," Ibrahim Khatir, director-general of North Darfur State's health authorities, told Xinhua.

Meanwhile, the Emergency Room at Abu Shouk Camp, a volunteer group, confirmed in a brief statement on Wednesday that 14 people were killed and others wounded in a heavy artillery attack by the RSF targeting the Nyala Market inside the camp.
