Shillong, Sept. 18 -- Meghalaya police has detained a 13-year-old boy in connection with the tragic death of a four-year-old girl at Nongrah Nonglum Brei in Shillong.

The boy, a neighbour of the victim, has confessed to taking the victim to a nearby under construction building, from where the body was found on September 15 morning, 24 hours after the victim went missing.

"The police investigation, led by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Superintendent of Police (Shillong City) Herbert Kharkongor, revealed that the boy had taken the girl to the construction site, where he slipped and pulled the victim along, resulting in her accidental drowning," Vivek Syiem, the district police chief of East Khasi Hills, told reporters on Wedn...
