Chennai, Nov. 19 -- In a shocking incident, a 12th standard girl student wasstabbed to death by a youth after spurning his love proposal at the Island townof Rameswaram in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu today, triggeringstrong condemnation from the Opposition parties like the AIADMK and PMK.
The girl was proceeding to her school, when the love-lorn youth, identified asMuniyaraj, confronted her and persisted with his love proposal.
As she rejected it, the youth in a fit of rage stabbed her multiple times usinga knife. She received multiple stab wounds and bled to death on the spot.
Acting on information, police rushed to the spot and shifted her body to thegovernment hospital for post mortem examination.
