Lucknow, Aug. 25 -- A roadways bus travelling from Hardoi collided with a stationary diesel tanker parked on the side of the highway late last night, leaving 12 people injured, including a female conductor. One passenger is reported to be in critical condition. The accident also caused a traffic jam stretching up to two kilometers.

According to police sources, the Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus, operating from the Hradoi depot, was carrying 35 passengers en route to Lucknow. Around 11 pm, near Kaka Dhaba in Sahilamau, the driver reportedly dozed off, causing the bus to lose control and crash into the empty tanker. The impact was so severe that the front portion of the bus was heavily damaged, and the tanker was dragged several meters.
