Kendrapara, Oct. 31 -- A 12-foot-long saltwater crocodile was rescued today from a pond at Alava village under Pattamundai Municipality in Odisha's Kendrapara district.
According to sources, villagers spotted the giant reptile in the pond and immediately alerted forest officials. A team from Bhitarkanika Forest Range reached the spot and, after a challenging three-hour operation, successfully captured the crocodile.
The crocodile was later released into the wilds of Bhitarkanika National Park.
