Niamey, July 7 -- The Nigerien army announced yesterday that it had killed at least 11 terrorists in response to two coordinated attacks carried out on July 2 and July 3 in the Tillabery and Dosso regions of western Niger.
According to a military statement broadcast on Nigerien Radio and Television, the first clash occurred on July 2 when terrorist groups ambushed a military convoy en route to a village in Tillabery.
"Thanks to a vigorous response, five terrorists were neutralized, and several items were recovered, including four AK-47 rifles, 10 magazines, three motorcycles, and a batch of military equipment," the statement said.
