Kolkata, July 23 -- At least 11 people were injured, two of them critically, when a passenger bus and a goods-laden truck collided head-on in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district today, official sources said.
The injured have been taken to the Kakdwip primary health centre, of them two were shifted to the Diamond harbour Medical hospital after their condition deteriorated.
Both the drivers of the government-owned passenger bus and the private truck sustained critical injuries as the vehicles' front sides were damaged heavily on impact.
The head-on-collision occurred at Kamarhat area around 7 am at 117 NH under Kakdwip police station in S 24 Parganas. The bus was heading to Kolkata with passengers.
